Cork Lighthouse Weekend

Rosie Drysdale, our Ireland ALK representative, is organising a Cork lighthouse weekend from 14th-17th May 2026.

Attendees will be responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and during the event, as well as accommodation and meals. Please note that this event is self-drive and it will not be possible to reach each location using public transport. The event will begin on the morning of Thursday 14th May and end on the afternoon of Sunday 17th May.

The event will include a Ballycotton boat trip and tour of the lighthouse (all weather dependent), Old Kinsale Head Lighthouse (no internal access), and Galley Head Lighthouse tour with presentation from Gerald Butler. In addition, we will board the Cape Clear Ferry (with opportunity to visit Cape Clear Island and see the old lighthouse) before heading on to see Fastnet Lighthouse (no landing). Although the Fastnet trip is weather dependent, at the time of year we are visiting it is quite unlikely that the boat will not run. The event will conclude with a visit to Mizen Head where there is a visitors centre and cafe.
